In the heart of Samburu County, a silent revolution is taking place—one that is breaking the chains of harmful cultural practices and giving young girls a chance to dream beyond early marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM). Father CK Foundation, in collaboration with the Sisters of Mary Immaculate, Nyeri, has provided a safe haven for girls escaping these oppressive traditions. Through the Timeless Vision Scholars Program, the foundation is sponsoring the education and well-being of these brave young girls, offering them an opportunity to shape a brighter future.

Currently, the rescue home shelters over 90 girls, with 15 of them receiving full educational scholarships from Father CK Foundation. The program aims to extend full sponsorship to all girls under its care, ensuring they not only receive education but also the essential support they need throughout the school calendar and beyond.
Girls’ Counseling and mentorship program

Additionally, the foundation offers counseling and mentorship programs to help the girls heal from trauma, build resilience, and develop life skills such as decision-making, emotional intelligence, and leadership. These programs equip the girls with the confidence and knowledge needed to navigate life beyond their circumstances, ensuring they emerge as empowered individuals ready to contribute positively to society.
Stories of Strength and Resilience

Diana Nanapu
Among the girls benefiting from this life-changing initiative is Diana Nanapu, a 20-year-old Form Three student who defied deep-rooted traditions to pursue her education. Threatened with forced marriage and FGM, Diana found solace in the rescue center after fleeing her home. Her journey has been nothing short of inspiring—despite facing the heartbreaking loss of her mother, Diana remains steadfast in her ambition to become an advocate for girls’ education. She hopes to return to her community to champion the fight against harmful practices and empower other young girls.
Josephine Nashami,

Another remarkable story is that of Josephine Nashami, who was born in Barsaloi, Samburu County. As the fourth child in a family of seven, she faced immense pressure to conform to traditional expectations. Determined to escape early marriage, she embarked on a daring two-week journey with her friends, walking across treacherous terrain. Some of her companions tragically lost their lives to a lion attack, but Josephine persevered, eventually reaching safety at the SMI Girls Rescue Centre in Suguta Marmar. Now studying at Shalom Academy in Nyeri, Josephine dreams of becoming a lecturer and using her knowledge to uplift other young girls in her community.
A Call to Action
The Timeless Vision Scholars Program seeks to extend full scholarships to all the girls at the rescue home, fostering equality and inclusivity in education. The program also encourages well-wishers to host the girls during school holidays, providing them with a sense of normalcy and boosting their self-esteem.
Additionally, well-wishers are called upon to support by volunteering their services through counseling and mentorship, offering guidance and encouragement to help the girls navigate their personal and academic journeys.
Father CK Foundation expresses deep gratitude to those who have contributed in the past by donating food, learning materials, and offering accommodation to the girls during holidays. The support of the community and donors is instrumental in ensuring these young girls not only receive an education but also the encouragement and mentorship they need to thrive.
