Daily Bites| Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter. Year C

Morning Prayer

Almighty and eternal God, merciful Father, You gave Your Son for our sins, and raised him up again for our righteousness.

Through him You have overcome death and have opened up for us the way to eternal life. Through Your Holy Spirit, grant that we may rely on this in true faith, that our bodies also will arise with Christ to eternal life, and that by remembering this comfort we may endure all kinds of sorrow in this life with patience through the power of the resurrection of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who with You and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, forever and ever.

Amen.

1st Reading; Acts 8:1B-8
The Lamb that was sacrificed is worthy to be given riches and power

There broke out a severe persecution of the Church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria,
except the Apostles.
Devout men buried Stephen and made a loud lament over him.
Saul, meanwhile, was trying to destroy the Church; entering house after house and dragging out men and women, he handed them over for imprisonment.

Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Thus Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.
With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing.
For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. There was great joy in that city.

Gospel: John 6:35-40
They would have arrested him, but his time had not yet come

Jesus said to the crowds, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
But I told you that although you have seen me, you do not believe.
Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”

Noon Prayer

It’s not enough to be good… DO GOOD…
Our tonight theme for Novena Closure Mass is: CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING.
What are you thinking God for today???

Evening Prayer

Heavenly father, thank you for the great victory over evil that your cross represents.
Most merciful Lord, thank you that the cross is the ultimate weapon against my enemies, and that no evil force, treachery, deceit, or malice that would attack this holy temple will ever succeed.

Cover my life with the blood of Jesus, oh Lord, and protect me from any evil plot that would seek to rob my of the peace of Christ.
May my savior’s suffering be a crushing blow against the enemy in every single area of my life, and I thank you and praise you, heavenly father, for IT IS FINISHED! In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen
