Memorial of Saint Francis Xavier, Priest

Memorial of Saint Francis Xavier, Priest

Morning Prayer

Today we celebrate the feast of St.Francis Xavier the Priest. We are called to imitate this great saint who devoted himself fully to preach the gospel of Jesus without turning back.

1st Reading (Isaiah 29:17-24)

God is Almighty; He is coming to do a new and a great thing unexpectedly. The deaf are going to hear His word. The eyes of the blind shall see. The lowly will find their joy in the Lord. In this reading, we are called to be steadfast in the Lord because a time is coming when the faithful will be elevated to higher levels.
The days of the evildoers are limited because God is coming to wipe them away. God who redeemed the house of Jacob and Abraham is coming to redeem His people.
Good people of God focus on the coming of Jesus in this advent season because your turnaround is very near. Don’t be discouraged by the storms that you are facing right now but keep knowing God will redeem you through his son.

Responsorial Psalm

The Lord is our Light and our Salvation. These are two crucial things that are fundamental in the life of a Christian. The beauty of a believer is the light of God and finally to attain the beatific vision after the earthly life.
We should not be afraid even in this Covid19 pandemic. We should seek to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of our life.
One thing we should be certain of is that we shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Remember that you shall not see the bounty of God in the land of the dead but in this land of the living. Let us have courage and trust in the triune God.

Gospel Mathew 9:27-31

Jesus the Son of God has many titles. These are healer, teacher, high priest, prophet, and king. In this episode, we see Jesus as a healer who is equipped with supernatural grace.
Christ heals two blind men because of two things. These are; the power of God and the faith of these two blind men. We are called to have faith in Jesus in our weaknesses, limitation, and difficulties. If we allow Jesus to work on our issues then our disgrace shall be turned to grace.
